Intro. to Graphic Communication WEEK #2 This week we will begin learning about AutoCAD. Computers will be required with AutoCAD pre-installed. The first step will be to get oriented with the user interface and to learn critical key commands. The following information sheets are included in the class binder, but can be downloaded for addition reference: Commands & Keys -  AC2   Layers, Lineweights & Linetypes -  AC1 Once the students have a basic understanding of how AutoCAD works, we will begin our first 2D plate design. The PDF & DWG files can be downloaded below. 2D Drafting Project –  SK6 2D Drafting Project DWG Template – SK6 DWG FILE I look forward to class! Feel free to contact me with any questions. Intro. to  Graphic Communication WEEK #1 This week we will cover an introduction of Graphic Communication and the fields it encompasses. We will also discuss the programs used in those respective fields. Some of the fields we will discuss will include: Architecture Civil Design Industrial Design Aerospace Graphic Design Patents & Toy Design Next, we will discuss the basics of drafting. I have created class binders that will be handed out during class. We will learn how to properly read and use an Architectural Scale with some exercises out of our binders. Then we will briefly discuss proper handwriting and lettering techniques for drafting. There are a few lettering templates included in the class binder that students can use at home for practice if they are interested. The final part of class will be to work on hand sketching. There are 3 hand sketches in the binder that we will try to complete during our hour together. Below are links to download ...
